Program Description
Grebek Komunitas is a continuation program of Sewon Screening 9, from year to year. This program is a form of Sewon Screening’s exclusive gathering with the aim of strengthening ties between film communities in Yogyakarta, and holding internal film screenings at the community’s place. In Sewon Screening 11, the Grebek Komunitas program will be concluded by a public screening with the title “Grebek Massal” to be a meeting between communities and watching with general audiences in the center of Yogyakarta.

“Break Through, Pledge Your Weariness”
It’s not about waiting long enough, but choosing to start. It’s not about submitting to rules, but finding loopholes to speak up. It’s not about relying on luxury, but on conviction. This work isn’t always paid, but it’s still done. Amidst narrowness, fatigue, and scarcity, new paths continue to be opened. The screen stays on, not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary. Fatigue isn’t a burden, and even an unprepared path can be traversed—as long as you’re willing to pay the price. If this is what we choose, why hesitate?
